William A. Hazen, 95 formerly of Franklin Twp., passed away at the Haven Nursing Home in New Castle on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at 4:52 P.M. William was born in Ellwood City on December 27, 1915 to the late Howard Charles and Lois Baxter Hazen. He was preceded in death by his first wife Clara E. Hazen in 1975 and his second wife, Eleanor Mesterani Hazen in 2005. William had retired from the Aetna Standard as a tool grinder after 22 years of service and was a Baptist by faith. He was a member of the Franklin Twp. Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by a daugher and son-in-law, Dawn and Ed Price of Ellport, son David Hazen of Franklin Twp., 2 step daughters, Jo Ellen Collier and Susan Zona both of Ellwood City, a grandchild and a step grandchild. William was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Keith, George and Gene Hazen. Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral Services will be at the Funeral Home on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 11 AM with Rev. Thomas A. O'Brien of the 1st Christian Church. Interment will follow cremation in North Sewickley Cemetery.
With sympathy on the loss of your father. He stopped to check on my Dad alot when he was living by himself. It was very much appreciated.
