Virginia May Guzi, 87, of Vandergrift, PA (formerly of Sharpsville), passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 10:30 PM at Pleasant Ridge Mature Living in Leechburg, PA. Born on June 1, 1927 in Greenville, PA Virginia was the daughter of the late Scott and Beulah Rust Hover, Sr. She married Andrew Guzi on October 16, 1965. Virginia worked briefly at Greenville Hospital as a nurse's aide and at General Electric. She was a very active member of St. John's Orthodox Church and its Mothers and Daughters Club. She was an avid seamstress, always sewing and making clothes. She also enjoyed quilting and making afghans. Virginia enjoyed listening to live music, especially Polka and she loved her ice cream. Virginia liked to travel but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Virginia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Jim Weiser of Vandergrift, PA, three grandchildren; Kayla Weiser, Lyndsey Weiser and Kyle Weiser, two sisters, Nancy Hopkins of Transfer, PA and Norma Babcock of Beckley, WV and a brother, Harry Hover of Orangevale, CA. In addition to her parents and her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Muffley and a brother, Scott Hover, Jr. Friends will be received on Friday, August 1st from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Tomon Funeral and Cremation Service, in the Harld W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State St., Sharon. A Panachida service will be held at the funeral home at 5:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd at 10:00 AM at St. John's Orthodox Church with Fr. David Mastroberte. Interment will follow in St. John's Orthodox Cemetery.
