Thomas M. Haney, 86, of Tara Drive, Ellwood City passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 in the emergency room of the Ellwood City Hospital. Born in Uniontown, PA on December 26, 1927, Tom was the son of the late Lester and Elizabeth O'Conner Haney. Thomas graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1944 and then served in the US Army during WWII. Following the war, he married the former Patricia Yunker on June 28, 1947. An avid pilot, Tom managed the Zelienople Airport for many years. He retired from Petrie Industrial Supply. Tom was a member of the Zelienople Experimental Aircraft Association. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Tom loved to golf with his brothers and his sons. A jack of all trades, Tom could fix or make just about anything. He was a loving husband, a good father and grandfather and he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Tom is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patricia Haney, a son and daughter-in-law, David and Nancy Haney of Canal Fulton, OH, a son, John Kosele of Fombell and his fiance, Teresa Conforti, two sisters, Shirley Petrie and Jane Haney, both of Bradenton, FL, four grandchildren; Elizabeth Ostergren, Andrew Haney, Jamie House and Jennifer Legg and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Tom was precedeed in death by four brothers; William, James, Franklin and John Haney. Friends will be received on Monday, December 8th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Tuesday, December 9th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport. A memoral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tom O'Brien.
