Shirley J. Smith

Shirley J. Smith, 69, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Brighton Township.

Born in Ellwood City on July 27, 1949, Shirley was the daughter of the late Harry and Irene "Tootie" Shoaf Gahagan. Shirley married Raymond D. Smith on June 17, 1967 and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1998. A very active member of Lighthouse Assembly of God in Ellwood City, Shirley enjoyed volunteering there and she sold Avon for over 40 years.

Shirley is survived by three sons; Danny (Joyce) Smith of Koppel, Shawn Smith of Ellwood City, with whom she resided, and Barry Smith of Pittsburgh, a granddaughter, Taylor Smith and three sisters; Patty Beitsch and Connie Bell, Both of Ellwood City and Sandy Gahagan of New Castle.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her step-mother, June Gahagan.

A private family service will be held according to Shirley's wishes.

Memorial contributions can be made in Shirley's name to Lighthouse Assembly of God, 527 North Street, Ellwood City, PA 16117.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
