Sarah Redmond

Sarah Redmond, 88 of Mecklem Lane, Franklin Township passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 4:30 AM surrounded by her loving family, in the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Sarah was born in Ellwood City on October 16, 1923 to the late Ollie and Susan Harris Hudspath. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Redmond whom she married on February 28, 1940. She had worked at National Tube during WWII and later retired from Passavant Health Center where she worked as a care nurse. Sarah was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She also enjoyed playing bingo and visiting the casinos. She was a member of the P.T.L. Club in North Carolina. Sarah is suvived by four children, Ann Kruger of Ellport, Merle Redmond of Ellwood City, Susan Coblentz of Wampum and Carol Herko of Wampum, 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Redmond and a grandson, Richard Kruger. Interment took place in North Sewickley Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory.
