Richard A. "Dick" MacMurdo

Richard A. "Dick" MacMurdo of Franklin Twp. passed away May 6, 2026 at Good Samaritan House, Wexford PA, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dick was born in Ellwood City on September 9, 1947 to the late William T. and Ada Bernice (Laughlin) MacMurdo. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School's class of 1966.

Prior to retirement in 2022, he was employed by Wattick Ford, Ellwood City Iron & Wire, Herr Voss Corp., and most recently, McElwain Motor Car Co.

Dick is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Linda A. (Bartley) MacMurdo, two sons, Rick MacMurdo (JP Prager), David (Niki) MacMurdo, two grandchildren, Kevin and Sara MacMurdo, and a sister, Ruth (William) Cunningham.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, William Kloos, his mother-in-law, Helen (Streit) Kloos, and his brother, Thomas MacMurdo.

Dick enjoyed anything dealing with cars. He took great pride in having a clean car. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and IndyCar Racing. For many years, he traveled to enjoy the Indianapolis 500. He cherished his family and their summer vacations in Myrtle Beach, their relaxing getaways in Tionesta, camping in Cook's Forest, and basking in the sun & beauty of the Southern California desert.

As per his wishes there will be no visitation or public service.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hillman Cancer Center for their care and support during his cancer treatment journey and the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice House for their grace and compassion.

Arrangements have been entrusted to The Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory.

Memorial contributions should be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
