Nellie Shaffer

Nellie Shaffer, 95, of Fombell passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 in the Butler Memorial Hospital. Born in Camp Run, Beaver County, Nellie was the daughter of the late Leroy and Frances Steffler Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Shaffer, on July 17, 2020. They were married on September 4, 1948. Nellie was a member of Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church. Surviving are Nellie’s 4 children, Patti Fennell of Ellwood City, Larry Shaffer of Portersville, Samuel Shaffer of Harmony and Terri Yaromey of Fombell, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Nellie was preceded in death by 2 brothers, David and Don Smith and 3 sisters, Birdella “Birdie” Smith, Bertha Smith and Linda Matheny.
