Nancy E. Pifer, 91 of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Jameson Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 16, 1921 in Ellwood City to the late Andrew and Rosina Andriotti Venezie. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish. In addition to being a homemaker, Nancy worked at the Ellwood Knitting Mill, Pee Wee Lunch and Edmin's Dress Shoppe. She enjoyed spending time with children and grandchildren and playing a good game of card. She was a 1939 graduate of Lincoln High School. Surviving are children, Rita Sutton of Tyrone, GA, Louis and his wife Susan Ventriglia of Brooks, GA, Carol and her husband John Steilner of Ellwood City, Roberta and her husband Richard Lewis of Valdosta, GA, William and his wife Karen Pifer of Sugargrove, IL, 10 grandchildren, Doreen Houk, Christal Rossi, John Steilner, Patrick John, Shayla Ventriglia, Elye Hoff, Kristin McLane, Page Krispin, Melissa Terfer, Heather Moech and their spouses, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Patsy "Chippy" Ventriglia who died on August 16, 1971 and husband Leroy Pifer on December 9, 1994 and an infant son, Ralph in 1949. Nancy is the last surviving sibling of ten brothers and sisters, Carmen, Ralph, Patsy, Albert and Joe Venezie, Pauline Contrucci, Mary Iervasi, Lena McQuiston and Louise Mitchell. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law Morton Sutton. Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport on Sunday from 2 to 6 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Redeemer Church on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 10 A.M. by Fr. Lou Pascazi, a eulogy will be offer by Rev. Bruce Gardner. Interment will follow in Loust Grove Cemetery.
