Michelle “Mickey” Piecuch, 63 of Ellport, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, after a year plus battle with pancreatic cancer. Dozens of family, friends and neighbors visited in her final days. She was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a cherished friend to everyone that knew her.
Born in New Castle on July 13th, 1961, a daughter of the late Richard “Baldy” and Blanche Anthony Baldwin. She was a member of the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church.
She graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1981. She spent most of her life raising her three children, along with every child that lived in Ellport, never turning down an extra mouth to feed. Her passion and regard for others was paramount, and her selflessness to others impacted countless people in the community. She would take her time talking to everyone she ran into to make them feel special.
She was a dedicated employee at Pipsqueaks Daycare Center for over 20 years. She was “Miss Mickey” to hundreds of children and treated each one like they were her own. Loving each one of them unconditionally, giving them much needed care and attention.
The glue of her family, her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She loved attending all their school and life milestones, sporting events and was proud of all of them. She hosted many holidays, picnics and pool parties at her home and enjoyed every minute of them. All were welcome, and many of times the house, deck and patio were overflowing with people. Her family loved taking annual vacations to the beach, her favorite being Emerald Isle, North Carolina. Even on vacation, she loved taking care of everyone with home-cooked meals, beach drinks, and taking walks on the beach with her soulmate, Stan. She loved to bake, primarily cookies, and would always have a stockpile of them in the freezer so there was never a short supply. She loved to craft wreaths for people’s homes, gravesites, and even made it her point to place one at the Ellport Veterans Memorial. She enjoyed life by making others happy and comfortable, an absolute angel on this earth.
Mickey survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Stan; her children, Nicole (Bryan) Neghiu, Stan (Misty) Piecuch, Dave (Rachel)Piecuch; and her three grandchildren: Kora, Marley, Elijah.
