I was Mickey's cousin, Brenda Lucas, now Brenda Martinson and have resided in San Diego, CA for almost 25years. Being gone so long and so far away, one loses family ties...of which Mickey was one of them. When I heard of her illness, we got back in touch via e-mail. Though it was only a short time...I will remember her for her great courage and strength...her caring heart and of her never complaining about her situation even at the very end. We had not known each other in our adult lives, but she truly showed me her wondrous character and taught me invaluable lessons...of which I am truly grateful. I miss hearing from her through her e-mails.
With loving memory,
I always thought that Mickey was one of the most beautiful little girls I had ever seen when she was about two or three years old, and we would see her when Mary Lou and I would go back to Ellwood City for visits. She remained very pretty as she grew into a teenager and young adult with a happy and cheerful personality. I think she was still pretty in the picture that appears in the obituary. Time really flies, and at 56 she was only two years younger than Mary Lou (Sulia) was when she passed away at 58 in 1994. My sincere sympathy and condolences to all the family. The photo I have included is of Mary Lou and I with our young family from a few years ago. Children are Frank, Sheila, Bruce, and Diane.
I am so saddened to learn of the passing of Mickey. We enjoyed such cherished moments in school together. We realize death for the first time when God places His hands upon one whom we love. We must always have old memories and young hopes. My thoughts and prayers remain with you all. Bill Soltes, Bluff City, TN
With love always, deeply missed
