Mary Jane Repasky, 93, of South Pymatuning Twp., passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 26, 2020.
Born on March 8, 1927, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mildred Blasko Repasky. She was a graduate of Transfer High School and worked as a seamstress for over 40 years at Mehl’s Men’s Clothing Store and Anderson Men’s Store in Sharon. Mary Jane was devoted to her family and her Church. She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church in Hermitage where she served as secretary for over 45 years and was a recipient of the Mother of God Award for her service and dedication to St. John’s. She enjoyed volunteering wherever she was needed- church dinners, pirohi sales, golf tournaments, Chinese auction and helping at Camp Nazareth. Along with Fr. Michael and Pani Eleanor, she was instrumental in starting the religious showcase in the fellowship hall. Mary Jane also served as secretary of the Mothers and Daughters Club and was a former member of the ACRY group.
In her home, Mary Jane enjoyed the outdoors, working in her garden and watching the birds. She also loved to bake- making the best nut rolls and cookies. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and her late brother, Steve.
Mary Jane is survived by her sister, Katie Hartley of Hartford, OH, her brother, Michael and Julie Repasky of Columbia, NJ, three Godchildren; Kathy Hartley Baronowsky, Nicholas Baronowsky and Stephanie Repasky, nieces and nephews; Glenn and Michele Orlosky, Edward and Mindy Hartley, Paul Hartley, Steve, Amelia and Samuel Baronowsky, John and Joseph Repasky, and Alexander and Rachel Lewis Hartley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Repasky and Mildred Orlosky, two brothers, John Joseph Repasky and Stephen Nicholas Repasky, two brothers-in-law, George Orlosky and Richard Hartley, a nephew, Gary Orlosky and a niece, Robin Lewis Hartley.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 29th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John’s Orthodox Church, 3180 Morefield Road, Hermitage.
A funeral service will be held following the visitation on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Fr. David Mastroberte. Interment will follow in St. John’s Orthodox Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in Mary Jane’s name to the St. John’s Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
