Louise G. Dobi, 88, of 301 Martin Avenue, Ellport passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 in the Ellwood City Hospital. Born in Mine Spring, PA on March 2, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Ignacs and Mary Kish Gaul. She married Louis Dobi on September 28, 1946 and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2000. Louise worked in the accounting department at US Steel and also at Curtis Wright in Beaver. She also worked at Dustproof Mattress in Ellport. She was an active member of the Ellport Presbyterian Church whe she was a long time Elder and Deacon. She also taught Sunday School and Bible class. Louise was a member of the Ellwood Hospital Auxiliary for over 25 years, a member of the Ellwood City Women's Club and she delivered Meals on Wheels with her husband for 10 years. She also served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. Louise was a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1941. Louise is survived by three sons; Rev. David and Bonnie Dobi of Greenville, PA, Tim and Lynn Dobi of Erie, PA, John Dobi and his faithful companion, Michelle Bowden of Ellport, six grandchildren; Joshua and Kerri Dobi, Jillian and Rev. Grant Sutphin, John Dobi IV, Rachael, Amanda, and Andrea Dobi, two great-grandchildren, Emily Grace Dobi and Elsie Louise Sutphin, three sisters, Alice and Bob Rossi of Ellwood City, Mary Ann and Bernard VanMeter of Oak Island, NC and Eleanor Pratt of Ellwood City and a brother, Gene and Karoline Gaul of Ellwood City. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers in infancy. Friends will be received on Sunday, January 13th from 2:00 to 4:00PM and 7:00 to 9:00PM and Monday, January 14th from 10:00 to 11:00AM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 14th at 11:00AM with her son, Rev. David Dobi of 1st Presbyterian Church of Greenville and Rev. Theresa Kendall of the Ellport Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
