Lettie J. Ross

Lettie J. Ross, 93 of Ellwood City passed away at Avalon Care Center in New Castle on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

Born in Ellwood City on April 2, 1932, Lettie was the daughter of the late Charles and Susie Frances Volpe Damato.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Ross, who passed away on January 31, 1996.  Lettie had retired from the Ellwood Knitting Mill after 44 years of service.  She was a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church and a member of the former Catholic Daughters of America.  Lettie enjoyed spending time with her sister, Mary Ellen and Little Anthony.

Lettie is survived by her two sisters, Mary Ellen Magnifico of Ellwood City and Elvera Boron of Columbia, SC.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Lettie was preceded in death by a brother, Nicholas Damato and a sister, Louise Chiappetta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Redeemer Church on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Fr. Joseph Freedy, celebrant.

Friends may call at the church from 12 noon until the time of the Mass.

Interment will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Lettie’s family would like to thank the staff at Avalon Care Center and Family Hospice of UPMC for their thoughtful and kind care.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport.
