Katherine Yourema, 95, of Hermitage passed away at St. Paul’s Senior Living Center in Greenville on Sunday, January 29, 2023. Born in Jessie Hill, PA on June 18, 1927, Katherine was the daughter of the late John and Ann Washic Tatusko. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Yourema on September 17, 2006. They were married on May 8, 1948. Katherine retired as an operator from Bell Telephone in Sharon. She was a member of St. John’s Orthodox Church in Hermitage where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Tuesday morning bowling league at the former Hickory Lanes and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. Katherine is survived by her son and daughter, Walter John and Mary Ann Yourema of Hermitage and Kathy Ann and Jack Arcurie of Naples, FL, 4 grandchildren, Walter Steven Yourema, Jessica Joy Church, Michael Arcurie and Jill Arcurie, 2 great grandchildren, Dylan Church and Brantley Arcurie, 3 sisters, Margie Ristvey of Holland, PA, Helen Cook of Hubbard and Delores Jisko of Sharon, a brother, Joe Tatusko of Hermitage and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Katherine was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Ann Gaydos, Mary Gaydos and Susan Susa, 4 brothers, John, Mike, Peter and George Tatusko, a son in infancy and sister-in-law, Germaine Tatusko. Friends may call at St. John’s Orthodox Church on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 10 AM until the time of her Funeral Service at 11 AM with Fr. David Mastroberte. Interment will follow in St. John’s Orthodox Cemetery.
