Karen Ann Marino Williams, 78, of Ellwood City, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Washington, PA on May 3, 1947, Karen was the daughter of the late Albert R. and Frances Gibson Marino. She married Maxie F. Williams on July 4, 1981 and he preceded Karen in death on July 7, 2009. She graduated from Carlow College in 1969 with a major in English and a minor in education. Karen retired from the Ellwood City Area School District after thirty-five years as an English teacher. A member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church, Karen served as a lector and a Eucharistic minister. She loved to shop, eat, and go out with her friends. Most of all, Karen loved the Lord with all her heart and soul.
Karen is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey & Caron Williams of Virginia Beach, VA, Marc and Jeannie Williams of Mercer, PA, her daughter, Dawn Williams of Ellwood City, her son-in-law, Robert Freshcorn of Myrtle Beach, SC, eight grandchildren: Cody Williams, Jordan Williams, Shannon Freshcorn, Timothy Freshcorn, Caitlyn Williams, Carson Williams, Trevor Williams and Gregg (Kelsey) Williams, three great-grandchildren: Marissa Irvine, Ashia Freshcorn and Archer Williams.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Karen was preceded in death by her daughter, Cara Freshcorn and infant grandson, Jake Williams.
Friends will be received on Friday, May 1st from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will held following the viewing on Friday, May 1st at 1:00 PM at Holy Redeemer Church, 415 Fourth Street, Elllwood City, with Fr. Jim Wehner, celebrant. Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
