Julaine M. Bohn, 89, of Highbanks Care Center, Columbus, Ohio passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009 in her residence. Mrs. Bohn was born March 15, 1920 in Coalhurst, Alberta, Canada to the late Michael and Anna Gorog Gates. Julaine grew up in Warren Ohio where she married Robert Bohn on July 11, 1943. They raised their five children in the Sharon, Pennsylvania area. Julaine lived in Ormond Beach Florida for many years, retiring from the Ormond Memorial Hospital Admitting Department. She moved to Columbus in 2003. Julaine is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: R. Gregory and Linda Bohn, Yulee, FL and Dennis and Patricia Miller Bohn, Transfer, PA, daughters and sons-in-law: Teresa and Edward Kelly, Columbus, OH, Karen and John Lunden, Indian Harbour Beach FL, Cynthia and Richard Purdie, Melbourne, FL, a brother, Michael Gates, Avon OH, a sister, Anne Petrunia, Warren OH, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers: John, Joseph and Julius Gates and a sister, Mae Bachrik. Visitation will take place on Friday, March 20th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Tomon Funeral and Cremation Services in the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State Street, Sharon, Pennsylvania. A Parastas Service will be held at 4:30 PM on Friday. A Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday, March 21st at 11:00 AM at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr. Frank Firko, celebrant. It will be preceded by a Panachida Service at the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Bohn's name to the Highbanks Care Center Activities Fund, 111 Lazelle Rd E, Columbus, OH 43235. Her family extends their gratitude to the staff at Highbanks for the outstanding care they provided for Julaine during her stay there. They truly are special people! Our thanks also to Odyssey Hospice nurse Vicki and to Odyssey Hospice home health aide Angela for their wonderful care and compassion during Julaine's last months.
