Jerry R. McMunn, 69 of 825 McCartney Hollow Road, Fombell, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2009 at 12:30 PM in the Ellwood City Hospital. Born on January 19, 1940 in Zelienople, PA, Jerry was the son of the late Ralph E. and Edith Moore McMunn. He retired from B&W/Koppel Steel and was a member of the Wurtemburg Methodist Church. Jerry was a Veteran of the US Navy, a member of VFW Post 252, SOI Lodge 608 and the Ellwood City Hungarian Home. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law: Debbie McMunn of New Castle, Karen and Bob DeFonde of Ellwood City, 3 grandchildren: Marissa, Brianna and Landon DeFonde, a great-grandson, Carson DeFonde, 2 sisters, Donna Moyer and Shirley Smith, both of New Castle and a brother, Robert McMunn of Ellwood City. Arrangements were entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.

You and your loved ones are all in our prays on the loss of your father! Try to find comfort that he is in a much better place at peace now! It is the ones left behind that suffer. I am here for you both (only a phone call away day or night) if you need someone to talk to or a shoulder to cry on! Debbie & Karen I love you guys so much and I sure wish I could be there for you! These prays and thoughts come from us all Me, Austin, Savannah, Mom & Dad, Brenda and Sherri.
