James H. Klingensmith

James Klingensmith, 82, of Shenango Township, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford surrounded by his family.

Born on November 10, 1943 in Ellwood City, James was the son of the late Cyrus and Doris Klingensmith and the late Elizabeth Sheals Worth. He married the former Carolyn S. Moore on June 25, 1964 and they enjoyed nearly sixty years together before her passing in February of 2024.

James was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Bache. For over 50 years, James and his wife were ham radio operators with a passion for passing his knowledge to the youth. He also enjoyed camping with his wife and family.

Surviving are his 3 children, Kimberly Hummel of New Brighton, James and Susan Klingensmith, Jr. of Ellwood City and Timothy and Elva Klingensmith of New Castle, 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Besides his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Klingensmith, his grandson, Ronald "Jake" Hummel and his son-in-law, Ron Hummel.

James and his wife will be entombed in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
