Irma E. Messina

Irma E. Messina, 84 of 356 Franklin St., Franklin Twp. passed away at the Ellwood City Hospital on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 6:20 AM. Irma was born in Wurtzburg, Germany on January 9, 1928 to the late Johann and Maria Scheuermann. She is survived by her husband, James J. Messina whom she married on December 27, 1947. Irma was an active member of Holy Redeemer Parish in Ellwood City where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She was also a member and former treasurer of the DAV Auxiliary #112. Besides her husband Irma is survived by a son , Robert J. Messina of Ellwood City, a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Craig Taylor of Goose Creek, SC and a grandson, Jamie Taylor of Monks Corner, SC. She was preceded in death by sister, Elsa Mueller. Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Redeemer Church on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10 AM by Fr. Mark Thomas. Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Christian Mother are ask to meet at the Church at 9:45 AM to form the Honor Gurad.
