Harold D. Majors, 78 of 1440 Cherry Hill Road, Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday,January 19, 2011 at the Mary Evans Extended Care Unit of the Ellwood City Hospital. Born in Ellwood City on October 9, 1932, Harold was the son of the late Harold and Edna Brophy Majors. He is survived by his wife, the former Ralphetta Volpe. They were married on July 29, 1953. Harold was a Veteran of the US Army, serving in Korea. He retired from CSX Railroad as an inspector. He was a member of the Ellwood Sons of Italy Lodge 608 and enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Brad Thellman of Ellwood City, three grandchildren, Nicole, Haley and Dylan Thellman and two sisters, Shirley Duff and Etta Nye, both of Ellwood City. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Alan Majors, a brother, James Regis Majors and a sister, Beverly Graham. Friends will be received on Friday, January 21st from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, January 22nd at 11:00 AM with the Very Rev. Christopher A. Davis of St. John the Evangelist Orthodox Church. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery. Full military rites will be offered by the Veteran's Honor Guard.

Ralphetta, Sue, Brad, Nicole, Dylan and Haley. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. You are such a close family and you have wonderful memories of your Husband - Dad - Puppy. I have heard so many stories and know that he was a GREAT man. He loved you all very much. He is in Heaven with Douglas now and Douglas is so happy to be with his Dad.
