Gladys L. Zeigler Kloos, 79, formerly of Orchard Avenue, Ellwood City, passed away at the Ellwood City Hosptial on Thursday, October 10, 2013. Born in Ellwood City on September 18, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Louise Henschel Zeigler. Gladys was a 1953 graduate of Lincoln High School. In the 1950's she worked as a tray girl at the old Ellwood City Hospital. Gladys married Frederick R. Kloos, Sr. on August 26, 1959 and he preceded her in death on February 18, 2006. Gladys was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a good wife, mother, sister and friend. Gladys will be missed by all who knew her. Gladys is survived by her sons; Frederick R. Kloos, Jr. of Smithsburg, MD, David Kloos of Hagerstown, MD, Brian Kloos of Williamsport, MD, and their families, two sisters; Kathy Francis of Ellwood City and Joann LeFever and family, also of Ellwood City. In additon to her parents and her husband, Gladys was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Kloos, a brother in infancy and a sister, Patricia Zeigler. A private memorial service was held at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport. Interment took place in Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family of Gladys, especially her sister Kathy, would like to thank Avalon Nursing Center for their kindness and compassionate care over the last year. It was deeply appreciated.
