Frances Buccelli

Frances Buccelli, 94, of New Castle (formerly of Ellwood City), passed away at UPMC Jameson on Thursday, March 9, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Born in Universal, PA on June 18, 1928, Frances was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Ortz Yvorra.  She married Carmen Buccelli on June 5, 1948 and they enjoyed forty eight years together until he preceded her in death on May 22, 1997.  Frances was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.  She enjoyed many things including cooking, baking, making pizza and bingo- but nothing compared to the joy her three generations of grandchildren gave her.  They were her world.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Rose Mary Brown of New Castle, her son, Richard “Rick” Buccelli of Zelienople, her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Wesley Starkey of New Castle, her son, Joseph Buccelli of Deland, FL, her daughter-in-law, Debbie Buccelli of Haxton, CO, fifteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Frances was preceded in death by her son, Carmen Buccelli, Jr., four sisters and two brothers.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 14 ^th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Mach 15 ^th at 10:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Church with Fr. James Wehner, celebrant.  Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
