Edward D. Krupa

Edward D. Krupa, 75 of 4th Avenue, Koppel died unexpectedly on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 3:45 A.M. in Heritage Valley Medical Center. Ed was born in Ellwood City on March 12, 1936 to the late Edward F. and Katherine Nyoh Krupa. He is survived by his wife, the former Katherine M. Hazen whom he married on September 9, 1958. He had worked at Superior Drawn Steel in Monaca and later retired from B & W (McDermott)as a pipe fitter welder. Ed was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish in Koppel and the Holy Name Society of the Church where he enjoyed working on the Easter Bread crew. He was also a member of IMBS Koppel and enjoyed participating in Koppel youth athletic programs. He was a 1954 graduate of Linclon High School and attended Geneva College. Ed was a 4 year veteran of the Army serving in Germany. Besides his wife Katherine, he is survived by 3 sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward D. Krupa, Jr., Jeffrey J. and Karen Krupa and Christopher J. Krupa all of Koppel, 3 grandchidren, Sean J., Katie and Vincent Krupa and a sister, Eileen and Ben Luxenberg of Roselle, IL. Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport on Sunday from 2 to 8 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Redeemer Church on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 10 A.M. by Fr. Mark L. Thomas. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In memory of Ed's love for his dog, Mickey, contributions can be made to the Beaver Co. Humane Society.
