Edward Donley, 82, of Ellwood City, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at UPMC Jameson.
Born in Ellwood City on January 4, 1943, Ed was the son of the late Herbert and Susie Dillon Donley, Sr. He married the former Charlene Morris on November 10, 1962. Ed retired from B&W in 1986 where he worked as a millwright and welder. A Veteran of the US Navy, Ed was Protestant by faith. He was a lifetime member of the Ellwood City Saxon Club and a former member of its pool team. He enjoyed gardening and golfing in a traveling league. Ed loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Charlene, Ed is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, James E. (Delores) Donley of Franklin Township and Scott (Robin) Donley of Blackhawk, his three grandchildren; Jacklyn (Sam) Bennett, Megan Donley and Piper Donley, his great-granddaughter, Addison Bennett, his sister, Linda Gordon of Harrisburg, PA, a sister-in-law, Betty Donley of Florida and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carolyn (Scott) Slack of New Castle, PA.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by two sisters, Goldie Rugh and Shirley Dean and four brothers: Herbert, Jr., Earl, Leroy and Robert Donley.
Friends will be received on Friday, June 20th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue Ellport. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Plyer of Bell Memorial Church, celebrant. Military honors will be presented by the Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
