Dorothy I. Munnell, 87, of Ellwood City, passed away at her residence on Monday, May 13, 2019.
Born in Beaver Falls on September 29, 1931, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Paul and Angelina Marosi Galli. She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Munnell whom she married on October 2, 1954. Dorothy was an active member of Holy Redeemer Parish where she taught CCD and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Christian Mothers of the church. She was a member of Golden Agers where she enjoyed playing cards. She volunteered with Meals-on-Wheels and the Ellwood City Hospital Auxiliary and operated the hospital snack bar.
Besides her husband, Dorothy is survived by her 4 children, Paul R. (Susan) Munnell of Jacksonville, FL, Barbara L. (James) Burry of Cranberry Twp., Mary S. (Greg) Ritter of Milesburg, PA and Mark S. (Ronalynn) Munnell of New Castle, 10 grandchildren; Jessica Beattie, Stephanie Angerer, Jimmy Burry, David Houk, Robert Munnell, Alison Burry, Lauren Munnell, Mark Munnell, Jr, Addison Munnell and Maria Munnell, 4 great grandchildren; Shepard Angerer, Bryce Beattie, Nolan Beattie and Caroline Angerer, a sister, Alyce Douglas of Tucson, AZ and a brother, Norman Galli of Patterson Twp.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sisters, Amelia Mehno and Norma Lorenz.
Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 5 PM to 8 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Redeemer Church on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 10 AM with Fr. Mark L. Thomas. Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
A sweet lady with a joyful spirit, you are missed, Aunt Dorothy. My sympathies and love go out to my uncle and the family in this sorrowful time.
