Clyde L. Bowers

Clyde L. Bowers, 90 formerly of North Sewickley Twp. passed away at Magnolias of Lancaster on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11:14 AM. Born in Franklin Twp., PA on July 9, 1926, Clyde was the son of the late Charles and Lora Moyer Bowers. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Melva Quinn in 1994. He retired from Riverside High School as Director of Facilities in 1988 after 35 years of service. Clyde was a member of Riverview Country Chapel. He taught Sunday School for over 50 years at both North Sewickley Presbyterian Church and Riverview Country Chapel. He was a veteran of the Navy serving in World War II. Surviving are 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Young of Franklin Twp. and Kathy and Albert Emerick of Lititz, PA, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents, Clyde was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Velma Holfelder and Cleo Douthitt and 2 brothers, Edward and Omar Bowers. Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport on Monday, November 7, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM. A Funeral Service and Full Military Rites offered by the Veteran's Honor Guard will follow visitation at 7 PM.
