Betty J. Brown, 86 of Trinity Oaks, formerly of Old Zelienople Rd., Franklin Township died Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 11:25 PM in the Mary Evans Unit of the Ellwood City Hospital. Betty was born in Fombell on July 26, 1926 to the late George and Esther Rape Lauten. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Brown in 1998. She had worked at the Glass Plant in Frisco and later at MSA in Ellport. Betty was an actice member of the 1st Methodist Church in Ellwood City and enjoyed making ceramics. Betty is survived by her daughter, Sondra Petrak and her companion, George Slavin of Carson City, NV, also 4 sisters and a brother, Marie Hart of Ellwood City, Jean and Ernie Davidson of Seymour, TN, Ruth and Wayne Thoma of Butler, Ethel Mae and Lloyd Hall of Fombell and Robert and Evelyn Lauten of Fombell. Besides her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Emerson Hart. Funeral Services will be at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 11 A.M. with her pastor, Rev. Jim Cannistraci. Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM Monday in the Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Zelienople Mausoleum.
