Anthony J. Morello, 86 of March St., Ellwood City passed away at his daughter's residence in Koppel on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 5 AM. Born in Ellwood City on April 14, 1926, he was the son on the late Joseph and Mary Beatrice Morello. Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, the former Agnes Sullivan on December 4, 2005. They were married on May 9, 1953. Anthony retired from the Ellwood Works of US Steel as a dispatcher in 1973 and later as a union laborer at the AB Dick Corp. Anthony was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish. He was the former Chief of the Ellwood Auxiliary Police and a Constable in Ellwood City for many years. Anthony was a member of the Ellwood Moose Lodge, SOI Lodge and the Ellwood VFW. Surviving are three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Linda Rock of Koppel, Lenal Morello of Ellwood City and Betty Ann and Gary Potensky of North Sewickley Twp., a granddaughter, Brittany Potensky and a brother, Patsy Morello of Ellwood City. Anthony was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Morello, a sister, Lena Morello and a son-in-law, Joe Rock. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Redeemer Church on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 10 AM. Entombment will follow in Assumption Mausoleum in Holy Redeemer Cemetery with full military rites by the Veteran's Honor Guard. Friends may call at the Joseph A Tomon Jr Funeral Home and Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Memorial Contributions can be made in Mr. Morello's name to the Ellwood City Area Public Library.
